Prep Time:
5 - 10 minutes
Time Length:
15 - 30 minutes
Step 1:

Using our larger outer ear template, trace two ears on the BACK side of the white faux fur fabric, then cut them out. If you're not using our templates, draw ear shapes approximately 2 1/4" wide by 3 1/4" long and cut them out.

Step 2:

On your pink felt or fabric, trace our smaller inner-ear template. If you're using your own design, make sure that your pink inner ear is about 1/2" smaller than the outer ear on all sides (you'll be folding the outer ear over on top of the pink later!). Cut them out.

Step 3:

Bend a pipe cleaner into a U-shape. Using your hot glue (adults only, please!), glue a line along the perimeter of the pink inner ear's backside. Carefully press the pipe cleaner into the hot glue to secure it. When it is dry, trim away any excess pipe cleaner, leaving two prongs about 1/2" each sticking out from the bottom.

Step 4:

When your inner ear is dry, mount the pink inner ear to the backside of the white inner ear using your hot glue gun. Apply some hot glue to the inside of the back of your outer ear, then press the inner ear (pipe cleaner side down) onto it.

Step 5:

Draw another line of hot glue on the rim of the white outer ear's backside, where it peeks out from behing the pink inner ear and the pipe cleaner. Fold the glued rim over the pipe cleaner. Be sure to watch out for your fingers, as some hot glue might seep through!

Step 6:

With the edges folded over and glued in place, your ears should look like this! You've got a white, fluffy backside and front rim, with a pink center, and a U of pipe cleaner hidden inside.

Step 7:

Once your ears are dry, bend the exposed pipe cleaner prongs so that they're L-shaped, with a flat base. Apply some hot glue to the top of your slipper. Press the exposed pipe cleaner prongs into the glue and allow it to set. Repeat on the other side.

Step 8:

Cut out a piece of white faux fur fabric about 4" wide by 2" tall -- this will be used to cover the top of the slipper and seal in the ears, so be sure that your piece of fabric covers the top of your shoe.

Step 9:

Apply hot glue to the backside of your fur fabric.

Step 10:

Place the fabric glue side down onto the top of the slipper. You'll want to cover the exposed pipe cleaner and seal it in place.

Step 11:

Your fuzzy bunnies are almost ready!

Step 12:

Gather up your materials for your eyes, nose, whiskers, and tails. Pink pom-poms make for cute noses, pipe cleaners are your whiskers, and white or silver pom-poms make great tails. Don't forget your googly eyes!

Step 13:

Hot glue your eyes to the sides of the slipper. Glue your pipe cleaners in an X-shape at the tip of your shoe, and glue a pink pom-pom in the center.

Step 14:

On the back of your slippers, glue another pom-pom for your tail.

Step 15:

Your bunny slippers are ready to hop around the house!

Sophie's Tip of the Week

Have a large number of very young party guests = it’s a great idea to set up stations, or zones and let them wander freely. Each station should have one object or activity: bubbles, playdough, coloring, balls, blocks, water...
