Step 1:

Use your glue of choice to glue the plastic bottle cap on the bottom of your coconut; this will become your base.

Step 2:

Next, add some googly eyes!

Step 3:

You can decorate your coconut buddy any way you like, but I am going to show you how to make one with hair. Cut about 10 pieces of yarn, each about 10 inches each. If you want a coconut buddy with short hair, you can cut your yarn pieces shorter. You can also allow the pieces to be longer. It completely depends on the look you're going for!

Step 4:

Separate one piece of yarn from the bunch. Lay the remaining pieces next to each other in a little bundle. Now take the piece of yarn you separated from the bundle and lay it directly under the entire bundle in the perpendicular direction. Tie a knot around the bundle of yarn using the perpendicular piece.

Step 5:

Glue the yarn atop your coconut to create some lovely hair!

Step 6:

From this point forward, it is up to you to let your imagination create your personal coconut buddy!

Sophie's Tip of the Week

If your child is attending a party, be a good guest and let your host know ahead of time if they have any allergies or special dietary needs. You can make things even easier by sending them along with food you know is safe for your child to eat -- your host will surely thank you!
