Prep Time:
5 - 10 minutes
Time Length:
15 - 30 minutes
Step 1:

Place the candy in the bag.

Step 2:

Use a pipe cleaner to seal the candy baggy by twisting the end of the pipe cleaner around the top of the bag. This is similar to using a twist tie around a loaf of bread's bag.

Step 3:

Now decorate your paper cone! I made a ghost face using permanent markers, but you can paint or glue to decorate the cone in any way you choose.

Step 4:

Snip the very tip of the paper cone using scissors!

Step 5:

Stick the candy bag, pipe cleaner first, under the candy cone with the pipe cleaner coming out through the hole in the tip.

Step 6:

Again using your scissors, snip the majority of the pipe cleaner off, leaving about 1.5 inches exposed to turn into a hook. Bend the piece of pipe cleaner to make the hook. This hook will allow you to hang it on trees, door knobs, strings, etc.

Step 7:

Now you can make a bunch more for all your friends and family! Here is my Halloween collection.

Craft Variations:

Look how spooky they can be!

If you are having a holiday party they can be painted ornaments, Christmas trees, stars, etc. For other themed events they work equally well. Make a hanging cone princess, puppy, or pirate. When you do, be sure to let me see!

Sophie's Tip of the Week

Whenever possible demonstrate for or show the children how to do something rather than tell them. A picture or visual really is worth 1,000 words!
