Step 1:

Lay your newspaper sheets on top of each other. They don't have to be perfectly aligned.

Step 2:

Start to crumple them up so they make a round ball! This will be the frame for your pumpkin shape.

Step 3:

Now place your sheets of orange tissue paper directly on top of each other and place the newspaper ball in the middle.

Step 4:

Engulf the paper ball in the tissue paper by pulling the tissue paper up and over the ball on all ends.

Step 5:

For the stem, take the excess orange tissue paper and begin twisting it. Really get in there and twist it tight so the stem takes shape.

Step 6:

Your little pumpkin is now complete. The next steps involve adding vines.

Step 7:

To make the vine, fold one sheet of green tissue paper in half.

Step 8:

Start twisting away from one end to the other. If you would like to add a leaf to your vine leave about about 3 inches untwisted at the end. If not, continue to twist.

Step 9:

To make the leaf, leave about 2 of the 3 remaining inches of your green tissue paper untwisted, and then twist the final inch.

Step 10:

Let's add the vine to the pumpkin! Wrap it around the stem, and tie a knot!

Step 11:

Ta-da! You have the cutest little tissue paper pumpkin!

Craft Variations:

If you want to continue to accessorize your pumpkin, create a jack-o'-lantern face or add some additional pipe cleaner vines and some flowers. Get creative and have fun!

Sophie's Tip of the Week

Start a collection of the classic, funny things that come out of your children's mouth. Jot them down in a notebook or even on small slips of paper kept in a shoebox. When things get frustrating you can always turn to your box for a smile.
