Materials List 1 skewer 8 oz. plastic deli container 2 pony beads 1 large bead 1 large sticker Hot glue Scissors Yarn Stickers, paper, glue, puff balls, duct tape, etc. (optional, for decorating) How to Step 1 Cut a piece of yarn about 14 inches long. Step 2 Lay the yarn over an open deli container. Place your sticker on top of the center of the yarn and stick it to the bottom of the container. Step 3 String one pony bead on one of the yarn ends. Step 4 Use the yarn end to tie a double knot on the bead to secure it in place. Repeat on the other side. Step 5 Now, let's add the drum holder. Have an adult poke a wooden skewer through the bottom side of the deli container, 90 degrees away from the sides where the yarn is stemming from. Step 6 Once the skewer has poked through the plastic edge, put a small amount of hot glue on the tip of the skewer. As always, adults should be the ones to use the glue gun. Step 7 Next, slide the large bead on top of the glue. Gluing the bead at the tip of the skewer will cover and protect the sharp tip. Step 8 With your bead in place, add some more hot glue on the opposite inside edge of the container. Step 9 Push your skewer up as far as it will go, so the bead sticks to the glue on the opposite edge. Step 10 Simply put the lid of your deli container back on, leaving the yarn and beads exposed and your deli drum is complete! Step 11 Now, when you roll the handle back and forth between your hands, the beads will swing and tap out a beat on your drum! Step 12 It's time to decorate! Use beads, duct tape, feathers, hot glue, and all other craft supplies to personalize your drum.
